Richmond developer celebrates CNY with BC Children's assist

Richmond-based Aspac Developments celebrated the Year of the Pig by raising money for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Richmond-based Aspac Developments celebrated the Year of the Pig by raising money for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

As well as their fundraising activities – with money going specifically to BC Children’s Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children Enhancement Initiative – Aspac laid on Chinese calligraphy, paper cutting, a tea ceremony; performances by young pianists and multicultural gourmet food.

All donations received in the month-long fundraising campaign are being matched dollar for dollar by a generous donor to double the impact for the Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children.

“When we found out about this wonderful cause, we immediately wanted to be part of it. After all, it is for children and the community,” says Ryan Laurin, vice president, sales and marketing for Aspac.

Sunny Hill is the only rehabilitation centre for children in BC. The Enhancement Initiative aims to raise $14 million to help create a state-of-the-art facility and a healing environment for Sunny Hill’s unique patient populations as the facility relocates to the BC Children’s Hospital campus in May 2020.
