Records broken at Richmond shooting competition

There was excellent shooting all round at the second annual Paul Alexander Memorial BC Airgun Championship, held at the Richmond Rod and Gun Club on River Road last weekend.

There was excellent shooting all round at the second annual Paul Alexander Memorial BC Airgun Championship, held at the Richmond Rod and Gun Club on River Road last weekend.

According to organizers, several personal best (PB) records were broken, with local boy Bobby Reid winning his Sub Jr U16 category, beating his PB by 60 points for a 1488/1800 score.

Canadian National Air Pistol Champion Allan Harding, who started his shooting career as a 15-year-old at Richmond Rod & Gun, won his Master Class category with a 1669/1800 score.

He also won match winner overall in the Men's division.

Saturday and Sunday’s championship was used in airgun circles by many competitors as a qualification match towards provincial and national divisions.
