The holiday season may be filled with warmth, bright lights and joy for many, but for some, it can also be a time of loneliness and isolation.
This Christmas, Richmondites can spread holiday cheer for seniors who may be low-income or socially isolated. Local London Drugs stores have partnered with care homes or senior organizations through its annual Stocking Stuffers for Seniors donation drive to collect personalized gifts.
Individuals can visit a local London Drugs – Richmond has two – and choose a tag from a tree display that has the personalized gift wish of a local senior. Gifts are delivered to seniors before Christmas.
“There is nothing better than seeing the smile on a senior’s face when you give them their gift that someone lovingly selected for them,” said one London Drugs store manager, Perry Lubberding, in a press release.
“The donated items are only part of the gift we can give them. The true gift is that few minutes we get to spend with them to brighten their day and make sure they know they weren’t forgotten during the holidays.”
To participate in the program, visit a London Drugs between now and Dec. 10. Pick a tag, and simply fulfill the wish list. Richmond has two London Drugs locations, one at 11666 Steveston Hwy with another at 5971 No.3 Rd.
