The Vancouver resident enjoys playing Lotto Max with Quick Pick numbers and purchased the winning ticket from 88 Supermarket on Victoria Drive. It was there that he checked his ticket with a retailer.

“I couldn’t think of anything,” he recalled. “I was in shock!”

"I’m very happy."

Immediately after he won, Gin shared the life-shattering news with his son, who "was equally excited and happy."

Aside from taking a cruise when it’s safe, Gin has plans to share his win with his family.

“I’m 85 years old and there’s nothing that I need. I’m very happy,” he added.
