Coquitlam cops search for missing First Nations councillor and man

Stephanie Patterson, who was elected to Kwikwetlem First Nation in March, is missing with David Hall, police say.

Coquitlam RCMP are issuing an urgent call to find a missing councillor with the Kwikwetlem First Nation (KFN) and a man.

On Sunday, police said they were looking for Stephanie Patterson, 44, and David Hall, 57.

The pair hasn’t been seen since they left a home on the reserve, at Colony Farm Road and Lougheed Highway in Coquitlam, at 6:30 p.m. last Friday (Aug. 11).

“The entire community is worried and police want to do everything possible to make sure that Patterson and Hall are safe and sound,” Cpl. Alexa Hodgins wrote in the press release.

It’s believed the two are travelling together in a 2019 white Honda Ridgeline with BC licence plates NF6 112; there are two “distinctive” stickers on the back with red and black flaming skulls, she said.

The vehicle was last seen at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 11 in the Meadow Vale Shopping Centre (19080 Lougheed Hwy.) in Pitt Meadows.

Patterson is described as:

  • Indigenous female
  • 5’2” tall
  • Slim build
  • Medium-length brown hair
  • Hazel eyes

Hall is described as:

  • Indigenous male
  • 6’ tall
  • Medium build
  • Short-brown hair
  • Brown and grey beard
  • Hazel eyes

Patterson was elected to KFN council in March along with fellow councillor George Chaffee and Chief Ron Giesbrecht.

A KFN spokesperson declined to comment on the police investigation.

Anyone with information about their disappearance is asked to call Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2023-21526. Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
