The body of a Saanich man missing for more than a year was discovered last week after police searched a home in a mobile home park on Songhees Reserve lands.
Kielan Hall, 23, had last been seen leaving a residence near Cooper and Admirals roads in March 2024, West Shore RCMP said Tuesday.
Officers were executing a search warrant related to drug trafficking on May 14 when the discovery of human remains led police to execute an additional search warrant on the same property.
Hall’s death is being investigated by the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit.
Police said no further details will be released due to the ongoing investigation.
Shortly after his disappearance, Hall’s mother, Lori Hall, said her son last sent a Snapchat message to a friend on March 14, 2024. “He was in a living room or bedroom and did not look well.”
The family was concerned that Hall may have overdosed, as he was not heard from after the message.
Hall’s father shared the news of his son’s death on a social media page dedicated to finding him.
Sheldon Hall asked the public for privacy as the family grieves.
“Kielan James Hall finally be at peace, my son. We will all see you in the next life,” he wrote.
Anyone with information related to Hall’s death is asked to contact the major crime unit at 250-380-6211.
