Vancouver Police are investigating after a body was found on the rocky shores of Northeast False Creek following sunrise Wednesday morning.

A photograph shot by an area resident from a nearby balcony showed investigators erected a white crime scene tent over the body, in an area between Science World and the Concord Pacific sales centre. The location was below the seawall, near the top of the tide line.

“The call came in at 5:18 a.m. and the body appears to be a man’s body,” said public information officer Const. Tania Visintin. “Everything else is still under investigation.”

The bodies of two men who went missing after visiting downtown nightclubs were found recently in False Creek, less than three weeks apart.

Langley’s Irshaad Iqbal, 36, went missing April 29 after attending the Harbour Event Centre. His body was found May 18 near the Plaza of Nations. On June 5, a boater near Granville Island found the body of Suleiman Khawar, 23, who went missing after visiting the Mansion Club in the Paradox Hotel, formerly known as the Trump International.
