SAINT JOHN — Border officials say they recently seized the largest shipment of suspected cannabis in the country since 2015.
Canada Border Services Agency says officers at the port in Saint John, N.B., discovered 6,700 kilograms of the drug on May 21.
Officials say the suspected cannabis was concealed inside 400 boxes in a marine container.
The container was destined for export to Scotland.
The agency says the quantity seized is three times more than the total amount of cannabis border guards seized across Canada in 2024.
The suspected cannabis and all other evidence in the case were transferred to the RCMP in New Brunswick for further investigation.
