Richmond’s own well-known children’s singer, Charlotte Diamond, will be hitting the stage at Lansdowne Centre this weekend as part of a celebration welcoming Santa Claus to the shopping mall.

Joined by her Hug Bug Band, Linnea Good and David Jonsson, Diamond will perform some of her old favourite songs as well as seasonal hits from her holiday record, “The Christmas Gift.”

“These annual family concerts have become a highlight of my year,” Diamond told the Richmond News by email.

“It is an opportunity to meet friends, to see how their families have grown and get in the mood for the holiday season.”

Diamond added she always encourages everyone to sing along to her songs and adds thoughtful songs to her set list including “Leave the World a Little Better” and the “Zulu Carol.”

Diamond’s concert will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 in the kiosk court of Lansdowne Centre. From Nov. 17 until Christmas, Santa will be at the shopping mall for photos. Other special events scheduled throughout December including pet photos with Santa, holiday concerts and a craft corner.
