Vancouver cyclist dies in collision with truck; police seek witnesses

Vancouver police are seeking witnesses after a collision between a bike and truck left a cyclist dead.

Vancouver police are seeking witnesses after a deadly collision between a truck and a cyclist left one person dead.

The collision happened just before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17 at the intersection of Clark Street and East 11th Avenue.

A silver Dodge Ram pickup truck and a bicycle collided there, states the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) in a press release.

"Despite life-saving attempts made by paramedics, the cyclist died at the scene," states the VPD. "The driver of the Dodge Ram is cooperating with the investigation."

Police are looking for witnesses to the collision, anyone with information about what happened, and dashcam footage from that time and place.

"Anyone with information is asked to call the VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012," states the VPD.
