Letter: Time to tow away traffic chaos in Richmond

Dear Editor,

Something must be done about afternoon rush hour traffic around Sea Island Way and the Arthur Lang Bridge.

On Friday, there was a stalled car in a north-bound lane on the bridge that tied up traffic for at least half an hour.

It’s about time that emergency tow trucks were stationed at both ends of the bridge to clear such obstructions as soon as possible.

What made matters worse were the impatient and inconsiderate drivers who blocked busy intersections in that area because they tried to turn into a lane already full of cars.

Such actions only serve to further slow traffic and potentially block the path of emergency vehicles.

The City of Richmond should work with YVR (Vancouver Airport Authority) and the RCMP to come up with a plan to counter these critical traffic issues.
