A Richmond News reader wanted to thank a good Samaritan who picked her up off the ground near this intersection recently

Dear Editor,

Last week, I was walking home from the library, going up Granville Avenue when I tripped on the sidewalk and fell face first.

I was not hurt at all, but because of my age I could not get up. I rolled over to a sitting position and was contemplating crawling to a wall from which I could haul myself upright.

Suddenly, in front of me stood a young man.

He had somehow seen my fall, pulled over his truck to the curb on Granville and had come to help me.

He was able to grab my arm and get me upright again.

Then he checked that I was alright and was gone.

Such kindness, such thoughtfulness, such a gentleman!
