Concluding its keeping seniors well program, Vancouver Coastal Health consulted with Richmond seniors to gather their feedback on local services earlier this month.

Over multiple evenings, VCH Richmond heard from more than 50 seniors to hear what they feel is missing in Richmond's health services.

“It’s important that we receive feedback from you about how are services are working or not working,” said Natalie McCarthy, director, mental health and substance use, residential care in an online statement. “We want to determine if our vision for seniors’ care matches your vision.”

While attendees were able to learn more about the changes to services for seniors in the community, VCH said some common concerns amongst Richmond’s residents include pay parking, difficulty finding a physician and wanting more information about services and how to access them.

Moving ahead, the input gathered from the keeping seniors well sessions will be gathered by VCH Community Engagement and used in Richmond’s seniors strategy.
