Snowfall warning in effect for Metro Vancouver

Don’t put those snow shovels away, just yet: Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Metro Vancouver. A total of about 10 cm is expected. Snow is expected to begin falling Friday morning and ease off later in the afternoon.

Don’t put those snow shovels away, just yet: Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Metro Vancouver. A total of about 10 cm is expected.

Snow is expected to begin falling Friday morning and ease off later in the afternoon. It’s possible that some areas will see mixed snow and rain in the afternoon. However, the majority of Metro Vancouver is expected to see snow.

Vancouver International Airport has also sent out a warning to travellers, stating they should check with their airlines for current flight timing and status before departing home, and should allow ample travel time to the airport. Updates will also be provided on the YVR website on an ongoing basis.

Meanwhile, the City of Richmond is urging residents to use caution when walking and driving as crews works to clear to snow and ice.
