Heading to the airport? Expect more traffic in the coming weeks.

Starting on June 11 and lasting for approximately two weeks, lane closures in both directions on Grant McConachie Way is expected to increase traffic to and from Vancouver International Airport (YVR).

“We encourage everyone to have a transportation plan before heading to the airport and leave themselves extra time,” said a YVR press release.

“Travelers are reminded that there are many options for getting to the airport, including the Canada Line which is a short 26-minute train ride from downtown Vancouver.”

The lane closures are part of a BC Hydro utilities relocation project at Grant McConachie Way and Templeton Street and is to prepare for the second phase of construction for the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Centre.
