There have been a few newcomers to the treat scene in Richmond in the last month or so. We’ve rounded up four new dessert places worth checking out in Richmond.

No matter the time of year, when it comes to sweet treats, “snow” is always a good thing. Jack Frost’s motto is “we make snow fall.” That’s because they specialize in colourful and creative bowls of shaved ice, including a few you can get with “dipping dots” ice cream pellets, too. Also on the menu are cakes and cheesecake, and beautiful macarons.

Milkcow is all about natural milk soft serve, and at this Korean dessert cafe it comes swirled to perfect peaks in cups you can top with anything from honey drizzle to macarons to cookie crumbles to a giant tuft of sugary cotton candy.

Coquitlam’s Choco Coo has expanded to the west in Richmond, where sweets fans will find their signature goodies like Matcha Lava Cakes, Napoleons, roll and mousse cakes, teas and coffee drinks, and an array of hot and cold chocolate beverages.

Taiwan’s ZenQ now has two Metro Vancouver outposts, including this recently-opened one in Richmond’s Golden Village. The shop specializes in desserts like grass jellies, tofu puddings, frappes, and frothy sweet beverages.
