In less than nine hours, renovation of a train station was completed in southeast China.

The construction took place at Nanlong Railway Station in the city of Longyan in China’s Fujian province. Starting at 6 p.m. Jan. 19, the project was finished with dozens of construction machines and 1,500 railway workers around 2:20 a.m. the next day, according to Sohu news.

The project goal was to join three existing railways to a new railway linking Longyan and Nanping, another city in southeast China. Upon completion, the Longyan-Nanping railway was expanded to almost 250 kilometres with a design for trains to run at a speed of 200 kilometres per hour, which would reduce the travel time between the two cities from seven hours to 1½ hours, according to Xinhua News.

Seven trains and 23 diggers were used, and the workers were divided into seven groups to work on different tasks simultaneously so that the project could finish quickly, said Zhan Daosong, a deputy manager at China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group.
