Richmond's national skating champion to hit the ice at worlds this week

Richmond Connaught Skater Wesley Chiu is warming up for the world championships this week.

The 2024 World Figure Skating Championship is taking place in Montreal from March 18 to 24.

Chiu is scheduled to hit the ice on Thursday, March 21 at 11:30 a.m. PST. for the men's short program.

The 18-year-old claimed the champion title and gold medal in the men's category at the Canadian National Skating Championships in Calgary this year.

He also recently represented Canada and placed in the top 10 at the 2024 ISU Four Continents Championship in early February.

The schedule for the championship's men's free skate program has yet to be announced.
