Have you taken flying lessons in Richmond, home to the largest airport in western Canada?

The Friends of the Richmond Archives posted this photo from around 1978 showing Harrison Airways Vancouver Flying School at YVR on Sea Island.

Originally, planes used to take off and land from the Minoru Park Racetrack.

That was when aircraft were made of wood, wire and cloth, the Facebook post from the Friends of the Richmond Archives noted.

In this photo, a Convair airliner can be seen through the hangar doors.
