With the second wave of COVID-19 on the upswing, making the most of our homes will be even more crucial this winter.

One of the best ways to reclaim indoor space is to get rid of unwanted goods. And 505-Junk is making it even easier to do by extending its discount on pickups until the end of November.

The company is waiving its $79 pickup fee and only charging $0.29 per poundfor removing household junk that’s left outside.

“We’re spending more time in our homes and our clients tell us that by relieving themselves of their junk, it positively impacts their mental health,” says CEO and co-founder of 505-Junk Barry Hartman.

“If you have a garage or shed that’s full of junk that you haven’t used in 10 years, having that space back feels really good.”

505-Junk sets itself apart from its competitors by its commitment to finding the best place for your unwanted materials, including working with local charities to donate unwanted goods and recycling material whenever possible.

Here’s what you need to know about using 505-Junk:

Loading the material

All the loading and lifting is done by 505-Junk. Just leave your items outside for loading.

How many people are sent to your home?

A truck team of two is sent to every pickup location.

How is material weighed?

Each 505-Junk truck has Measurement Canada certified scales built right into it, which allows the company to weigh your material right onsite.

Is there a minimum or maximum amount of material for pick up?

505-Junk has waived its 200-pound minimum charge until November 30, and it does not have a maximum amount. For example, 250lbs at $0.29/lb would cost $72.50 + GST. This price includes all labour, transportation, and disposal fees. Regular surcharge rates apply for certain types of material.

In an effort to keep COVID-19 at bay, 505-Junk has also implemented a few policies to keep their team and community safe. This includes increased sanitation, physical distancing, use of personal protective equipment and opting for contactless payment options.
