Chris Crisologo’s professional golf career is off to an impressive start.
The 23-year-old from Richmond has advanced from the first stage of the Korn Ferry Q-School after finishing tied for 14th at Soboba Springs Golf Club in San Jacinto, CA — one of 12 tournaments staged across the U.S. He fired rounds of 69-68-70-71 to finish at 10-under in a field of 76 players.
The Q-School second stage features five regional tournaments in early November with the top players advancing to the final stage in Florida — Dec. 12-15.
Following a decorated amateur career, Crislogo turned pro at the Vancouver Golf Tour’s Vancouver Open held at Mayfair Lakes last month where he finished tied for 10th — six strokes back of winner Steven Lecuyer.
Crisologo spent two years on Golf Canada’s national amateur team — winning the South American Amateur in 2018 and 2019.
He captured the Gary Cowan Award as the low amateur at the 2018 RBC Canadian Open, finishing in a tie for 45th.
Crisologo also competed as a member of the Simon Fraser University golf team, winning individual titles at six tournaments between 2015 and 2018.
