Richmond Girls Softball hosting U19C Provincials

Lightning Bolts welcoming teams across B.C. to London Park, starting on Friday

RGSA Lightning Bolts are hosting this year's Provincial U19C Championships at London Park, starting on Friday morning.

A trio of hosting provincial tournaments this month for the Richmond Girls Softball Association begins this weekend with the U19C Provincial Championships at London Park. 

RGSA and host Lightning Bolts will be welcoming teams from across the province who have earned their way into the tournament, including: Peninsula Power, Central Saanich Extreme, Alberni Blazers, North Shore Renegades, Burnaby Oakeys, Coquitlam Chaos, Cloverdale Steelers, Fleetwood Rebels, Chilliwack Her-ricanes, North Langley Blaze, Enderby Storm, Sicamous Angels, Kamloops Fusion, Mission Bulldogs and Delta U19C.

The tournament opens on Friday with games starting at 8 a.m. Opening ceremonies are slated for 5 p.m. that day where Lightning Bolts catcher Hanna McNeil will be on hand to catch the first pitch.The championships will conclude with the gold medal final on Sunday at 4 p.m.

For the older players participating in the tournament, this is a time to celebrate their last minor softball tournament before they move on to women's teams starting next season.

 RGSA and the Richmond Lightning Bolts wish all the teams attending the best of luck.

RGSA will also be hosting the the Provincial Senior “A Women’s (19-21) and Senior “B” (July 26-28) Championships, also at London Park.
