The Richmond Cosom Floor Hockey Association features co-ed play for all ages. Potential new players are welcome to come to an open house on Sunday at Burnett Secondary.

A unique sports association with a history in Richmond that spans over four decades is welcoming new players for the coming season.

The Richmond Cosom Floor Hockey Association (RCFHA) is hosting an open house on Sunday (Sept. 23) at Burnett Secondary School from noon to 2 p.m. Potential new players, ranging from kindergarten to adults, are encouraged to come out and give it a try. The non-profit organization is the only floor hockey league of its kind in Metro Vancouver.

So what has made the RCFHA thrive for so long?

How about a fun and physical activity played through the rainy fall and winter months indoors and exclusively in Richmond with no travelling involved?

Practices and games are held at local elementary and secondary schools. The only required equipment are shin pads, knee pads and running shoes. Jerseys and all other equipment is provided by the association.

All skill levels are welcome with no experience necessary. Kids will learn the importance of teamwork in a non-contact, fun and competitive environment.

Players are placed into divisions based on their age. All divisions are co-ed.

The cost for the entire season (October-to-March) is $120. For more information visit rcfha.org.
