Trey Taylor is among 40 players across the country selected for the CJHL Prospects Game on Jan. 14 in Hamilton. The 17-year-old d-man is an assistant captain with the BC Hockey League's Vernon Vipers.

Richmond’s Trey Taylor is among eight players from the BC Hockey League named to the 15th annual CJHL Prospects Game slated for Jan. 14 in Hamilton, Ont.

The 17-year-old blueliner is in his second full season with the Vernon Vipers where he serves as an assistant captain. He will be joined at the game by the BCHL’s Jackson Glassford (Alberni Valley Bulldogs), Ryan Helliwell (Langley Rivermen) Ethan Bowen (Chilliwack Chiefs), Kyler Kovich (Nanaimo Clippers), Luke Mylymok (Salmon Arm Silverbacks), Danny Weight (Penticton Vees) and Luc Wilson (Cowichan Valley Capitals).

Taylor was earlier included in the NHL Central Scouting Bureau’s Player to Watch List for next June’s 2020 Entry Draft. 

The rosters for both teams were selected by the Central Scouting Bureau with talent represent junior leagues across Canada.

“We extend our sincere congratulations to all of those players who have earned their selection to compete in the 2020 CJHL Prospects Game in Hamilton,” offered CJHL President Brent Ladds.

“We’d also like to acknowledge and recognize NHL Central Scouting for their substantial efforts in helping formalize the Team East and Team West rosters,” added Ladds.
