Teams in the Richmond Adult Soccer Association didn’t have to wait long to experience fall type weather for the new season.
The 2018-19 campaign kicked off on Sunday with a full slate of Division One and Two games, played in a steady downpour at South Arm Park.
Defending Division One champions West Coast picked up where they left off with a 2-0 victory over Club Ireland Celtic.
Other Division One action on the day included AC Richmond getting past the newly promoted Dragons 4-1, while RainCity edged the Lions 3-2.
The season actually started on Friday night at Minoru Park where the All Blacks slipped past the Jugadores 1-0.
In Division Two play, Burnaby’s Viet United blanked the Firefighters 3-0; the Hammerheads defeated the Rovers 2-1; the Knights doubled the Jade 4-2; the Rangers got past the Phantoms 2-1; Alumni defeated United FC 4-1; the Richlads were 4-1 winners of the Panthers and the Young Bloods rolled to a 6-1 win over the Warriors.
Masters Division play begins on Thursday while the First Division (Fridays nights) and Second Division (Sundays) begin their regular schedules.
