Tina Jiang continued her impressive summer of competitive golf with a second place finish in the U15 Girls Division at the 13th annual Maple Leaf Junior Tour Odlum Brown Classic-PGA of BC Junior Championship, played at the Northview Gold and Country Club in Surrey.

The 13-year-old Quilchena Golf and Country Club junior fired rounds of 74-74-73 to finish one stroke back of Vancouver’s Michelle Liu. The opening 36-holes were played on Northview’s 5,314-yard par-72 canal course and the final round took place on the 5,661-yard par-72 ridge course. 

Cadence Ko, 11, also competed in this division, recording rounds of 86-85. 

Jiang was fresh off competing a week earlier at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship at Beach Grove in Tsawwassen where she finished tied for 47th (81-84-77-80). Last month, she finished tied for 13th at the B.C. Women’s Amateur in Golden, highlighted by a 2-over 74 in the final round.

Other Richmond golfers competing at Northview included Sherri Yan, 15, finishing seventh in the Girls 15-18 Division with rounds of 81-72-84.

On the boys side, Brycen Ko was third in the Juvenile Division with a 220 total (71-76-73).
