Vancouver Canucks defenceman Chris Tanev joined members of the Richmond Jets Pee Wee A1 team to help recognize Pink Shirt Day and anti-bullying.

The Richmond Jets recognized Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday in a big way.

The city’s minor hockey association designed and printed 1,200 t-shirts that were distributed to all teams in a loud statement against bullying.

“The Richmond Jets take bullying very seriously, and we take a strong stand against it. With over 1100 members in our association we saw this as a great opportunity to share the positive message of Pink Shirt Day with our membership and with the rest of the Richmond community,” said Jets vice-president Cody Kusch.

Money raised from Pink Shirt Day will be donated to the Kids Help Phone. Kids Help Phone is always there for you. No matter what you want to talk about, we’re here to listen. No judgment, totally private, 24/7  - kidshelpphone.ca
