Girls Gone RX Canada makes Richmond stop

Women strength and fitness competition at Overdrive Athletic Club raises over $6,000 for Canadian Cancer Society

The Girls Gone RX Canada made its first-ever Vancouver stop at Crossfit OverDrive Athletic Club in Richmond last weekend and raised over $6,200 for the Canadian Cancer Society.

The fitness and strength competition was first held six years ago as a platform for women to team up and compete together. It also creates awareness for breast cancer research and the Canadian Cancer Society.

Since its inception, events have been held throughout North America, as well as the United Kingdom.

The Richmond stop attracted 69 athletes competing in teams of three with 23 in total.

“It was an amazing day, full of fun and fitness where people from all over the Lower Mainland got together to support a great cause and make new friends,” said event organizer and owner of Crossfit Overdrive Athletics Marco Tan.

The Overdrive Athletic Club was founded in 2009 and is located at 7371 Elmbridge Way. For more information visit www.overdriveathleticclub.com.
