The reigning Western Canadian Bantam AAA champion Seafair Islanders will be well-represented in Saturday’s Bauer B.C. Hockey League Prospects Game in Chilliwack.

Seven players from the Islanders championship roster have been selected to play in the game that will be part of BCHL Showcase Weekend at the Prospera Centre. They include: forwards Ethan Riesterer, Jaden Uy, Michael Abgrall, Jacob Bonokowski, Dominic Passalacqua-Main; defenceman Tyler Matsuo and goaltender Dylan Tsang. Also participating is goaltender Adam Billings who played for Richmond Minor last season.

The players were identified from the BCHL Exposure Camp held in May at the Richmond Olympic Oval and were assigned to two teams that will compete against each other at the Showcase.

The players are from the 2003 and 2004 age group and will get to take the ice with the usual contingent of up to 200 scouts from the NHL and NCAA ranks.

“We’re thrilled to offer the stage to these talented young players at the Showcase,” said BCHL executive director Trevor Alto. “The scouts that attend our Showcase will love having a chance to see these future Junior hockey players taking the ice. We look forward to seeing these players on the rosters of our teams in the seasons to come.”

The game gets underway at 10 a.m. and is followed by day three of the BCHL Showcase starting at 1 p.m.
