Dear Editor,

I just wanted to give a shoutout and thank you to the Richmond Engineering Department.

We were notified of a replacement culvert being put in at the corner of No. 7 and Cambie roads on Oct. 26. As this was in the height of the cranberry harvest, the need for the water and the culvert remaining open is critical.

One phone call explaining the importance of this not being done at this time was all it took. Within 24 hours, this was reassessed and corrected.

Thanks to the department and especially Leo Huang and Roger Keating for getting this done in a quick and efficient manner.

On behalf of the east Richmond farmers, thank you.

Ron Fontaine
