Dear Editor,

I’m writing to express my thanks for the thoughtful article published by the Richmond News on the challenges synagogues face after the terrible events of Pittsburgh.

The members of my synagogue, Beth Tikvah Congregation, are also deeply grateful for the overwhelming show of support and solidarity from almost every religious institution in Richmond. We have been profoundly moved by the love and concern shown by our neighbors.

While the pain and sorrow of what happened a few short weeks ago are still with us, we take tremendous comfort from that show of concern, and from the knowledge that we all stand together against violence and hatred.

May the Master of the Universe continue to bless Beth Tikvah with such wonderful neighbors!

Rabbi Adam Rubin
