Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Richmond as a Pacific frontal system brings strong winds to the South Coast.

Winds between 60 and 80 kilometres per hour are expected as the system approaches Monday night and into Tuesday morning. The weather agency says to exercise caution as the winds could cause damage.

“Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds,” the warning reads.

Winds are expected to diminish Tuesday afternoon as the front moves inland.

The warning is in effect for the southern areas of the Lower Mainland, including Richmond, Delta, Surrey and Langley.
