An increased bus service is coming to two of Richmond’s most overcrowded routes.

As of June 24, the 403 (from Riverport to Bridgeport station) and the 430 (from Brighouse to Metrotown) will see extra buses to alleviate overcrowding.

It’s all part of TransLink’s 2018 Transit Service Performance Review, which zoomed in on “route metrics and statistics.”

In particular, the 403 is getting an extra southbound service weekday evenings, which will now be every 12 minutes, from 6 to 7 p.m.

The 430 is getting an additional early morning service weekdays and Saturdays, being increased to every 15 minutes from 5 to 6 a.m.

Also, the 620 from Bridgeport to Tsawwassen ferry terminal will run later into the night in the busy summer season, to accommodate ferry schedules.

TransLink is permanently increasing the service across 26 popular bus routes in the region, with another 13 routes enjoying seasonal increases until Sep 2.
