It could take longer for Richmond transit users to get to their destinations this afternoon, as numerous trips have been cancelled as bus drivers refuse to work overtime for the third time (list below).
Previously, bus drivers held overtime bans on Monday, Nov. 18 and Friday, Nov. 15.
Another overtime ban will be held on Friday, Nov. 22.
And earlier today, Unifor, the union representing bus drivers, seabus operators and transit maintenance workers, announced there would be a three-day full shutdown of Metro Vancouver’s bus and seabus system next week if a deal is not reached with Coast Mountain Bus Company.
The shutdown will take place Wednesday, Nov. 27, Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29. Thousands of union members are expected to attend a strike rally outside TransLink’s New Westminter headquarters Nov. 28.
