Three Richmond electoral organization missed the Elections BC filing deadline and were consequently fined $500.

Elections BC listed the Richmond Citizens Association (RCA), Richmond Community Coalition’s city council candidates' group, and the Richmond Community Coalition’s school board candidates' group.

“The RCA report was delayed due to personal circumstances of a valued team member of our organization,” the electoral organization said in a statement Friday. “We are working to submit our report as soon as possible while being respectful of their circumstances.”

RCA candidates in the October election were Kelly Green and Harold Steves, who were elected to council, as well as Judie Schneider and Jack Trovato.

The Richmond Community Coalition had one successful council candidate, Chak Au. Others running under their banner were Ken Johnston, Jonathan Ho, Melissa Zhang and Parm Bains.

Of its school board candidates, the Richmond Community Coalition didn’t have any successful candidates – its slate included Grace Tsang, Harv Puni, Rod Belleza, Rahim Othman and Keith Liedtke.

The Richmond Community Coalition didn’t respond to inquiries from the Richmond News.

The late filing date is Feb. 18.
