The Richmond Public Library is celebrating kids that participated in its summer reading clubs at its Summer Reading Finale.
Kids who busted out books during the warm months collected stickers as they went, and on Sept. 8 those that completed their reading challenges will be bestowed with medals.
The summer book club aims to inspire a lifelong love of literacy and reading in kids. According to the RPL, 3,800 kids, 150 teens and 100 adults have signed up for a summer reading club to date.
The summer reading program will conclude with a celebration on the plaza of the Brighouse branch from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 8.
A news release from the library encouraged kids to sign up for a reading club before the finale to be eligible to win a prize.
