The Richmond Gaming Stadium announced on Tuesday that Dallas Stars player Tyler Seguin will be their new global brand ambassador.

“To have Tyler on our team is amazing,” said Spiro Khouri, CEO of The Gaming Stadium (TGS), adding that the stadium knew “right away there was a big opportunity for future plans” together.

“Partnering with Tyler is great for our company’s growth and we are pumped to take this journey with him.”

Seguin – who plays center for the Stars – is the second hockey star to join TGS, after John Walters, a National Hockey League Players’ Association’s (NHLPA) certified agent, joined the company’s strategic advisory board last week.

According to TGS, the addition of both Seguin and Walters will help support the company in its global expansion.

Seguin, who hails from Ontario, was drafted by the Boston Bruins in 2010 before he was traded to the Dallas Stars in 2013.

A few weeks ago, he was one of four professional hockey players who participated in a virtual hockey competition against community members.

“After dealing with the team at The Gaming Stadium for the Online Hockey Challenge, I was excited to explore an opportunity to work with them further,” said Seguin.

“As a gamer myself, the fit was great from the start. I am a big fan of what they are building and am excited to be a part of the growth.”
