Richmond already had fairly strict smoking bylaws, and those were amended this spring to forbid cannabis smoking anywhere tobacco smoking is already prohibited.

No matter where you are, the city is asking residents to consider those around the who may not want to inhale their second-hand smoke.

“While smoking of cannabis may be permitted in your home and some public areas, residents are encouraged to be aware of the impact of their second hand smoke on others and take steps to limit the spread of smoke,” read a city news release.
