A Richmond man facing drug charges from a cocaine seizure in June has been released on bail and allowed to return to Richmond.

According to The Chronicle Herald, Matthew Ryan Lambert, 34, is one of three men arrested and charged with conspiracy to import cocaine following a seizure of 150 kilograms on June 9.

The cocaine was found hidden on the bottom of a container ship registered in Liberia, which had been docked in Montreal before it stopped in the Port of Halifax, the Herald reports. The ship was inspected by divers at the Halterm Container Terminal, where the drugs were found wrapped in plastic and hidden in the vessel's sea chest.

The drugs were seized by RCMP and Canada Border Services Agency officers.

Lambert, Darcy Peter Bailey, of Fort St. John and Dangis Seinauskas, of Ajax, Ont., both aged 46, were arrested near the terminal. All three allegedly had diving equipment with them at the time of the arrest.

Lambert, was released July 18 after posting cash bail of $50,000. However, he and Bailey were re-arrested and charged with breaching their bail conditions by having contact through Lambert’s wife.

Lambert and Bailey were both freed again the following day, however Lambert must live with his wife, who is his surety, in Richmond.

Lambert, Bailey and Seinauskas are due back in court in September.
