Kwantlen Polytechnic University is expanding its educational activities for adults over the age of 50 by offering evening sessions and is bringing two of these sessions to Richmond this fall.

Third Age Learning at Kwantlen, or TALK, aims to offer creative and stimulating activities for adults.

“These new evening sessions provide more options for people over 50 who are looking for lively ways to stay intellectually stimulated,” said Dr. Robin Heath, TALK’s board chairperson, in a press release.

“Our members told us they wanted a greater variety of session times because they are often busy during the day and we have responded to that. We also hope the evening sessions will attract new members to TALK and our exciting fall program is a great time to check out what we offer.”

In Richmond, fall courses include:

  • The Grand Canyon – Oct. 10
  • Opera: La Fanciulla del West – Oct. 16

All TALK sessions are aimed at those aged 50 or older. Courses are typically $15 or $20, plus a $10 annual membership fee.

Other fall sessions around the Lower Mainland include.

Surrey

  • Who’s Your Gangster – Oct. 11
  • Linguistics – Oct. 17

Langley

  • Heartfulness Meditation – Oct. 13, 20, 27
  • Tell Me Your Story – Nov. 19

Cloverdale

  • Building Your Own Theology – Nov. 1
