Beijing Capital Airlines has partnered with Richmond News and YVR to give aviation lovers an inside look of how an airline and airport operate.

Readers can enter for a chance to win a ticket to “Your Dreams to Fly,” which is a one-day camp in which participants are taken on a journey from tickets to takeoff.

The participants begin their day at Capital Airlines’ counter at YVR and make their way through airport security, and on board an Airbus A330-300.

The camp includes a tour of above-the-wing and below-the-wing operations, and even a sneak peek into the cockpit and interactions with the pilots.

“This experience gave me a whole new understanding of how an airport operates,” said Mary Qin, a previous day camp participant.

The winners will also follow checked luggage as it makes its way through the conveyor belts and onto the airplane.

“A plane ticket only costs $500-600, but you don’t realize the amount of labour and service that goes behind it,” added Qin.

The next “Your Dreams to Fly” day camp will be happening on Sept. 26 and Capital Airline will be selecting 15 to 20 participants.

Look in our newspaper today for contest details. Enter by Sept. 12 for a chance to win.

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
