Are you passionate about helping people achieve their fitness objectives so they lead healthy lives? Now could be the time to get started in the fitness industry in Richmond.

The City of Richmond is partnering with the Richmond Fitness and Wellness Association to offer a discounted training program, for those who want to become fitness attendant.

The training program will be hosted at various Richmond community facilities on weekends throughout August and September, starting Aug. 11.

“Fitness Theory" and "Weight Training” courses will be offered at a 45 per cent discount, according to the city.

“Participants will gain an understanding of training fundamentals and learn how to work in a fitness centre environment,” stated a press release.

“Successful candidates will become registered fitness leaders with the British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA) and join a growing team of fitness professionals.”

Registration is now open "with limited spots available," said the city, and no previous fitness experience is required.
