It’s not a great start to what’s already poised to be a busy few days for ferry travel.
B.C. Ferries has canceled four sailings between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay Friday, making the popular Vancouver-Victoria route launch the Labour Day weekend with a lot of stressed passengers.
The cancellations are all due to issues with one ferry, The Spirit of Vancouver Island, says B.C. Ferries in their notice:
"Please be advised that the Spirit of Vancouver Island has cancelled the following sailings for Friday, August 31, 2018, due to an incident involving one of the ship’s rescue boat:"
- 7:00 am departing Swartz Bay terminal
- 9:00 am departing Tsawwassen terminal
- 11:00 am departing Swartz Bay terminal
- 1:00 pm departing Tsawwassen terminal
If you are scheduled or planning to travel on this route today, be sure to check with B.C. Ferries on their site, social media, or by phone, for updates on cancellations and delays.
#ServiceNotice #Tsawwassen - #SwartzBay Please be aware the #SpiritofVancouverIsland cancelled two round trips. We will refund premiums for customers reserved on these sailings. The vessel is expected to return for the 3:00pm departure from Swartz Bay. https://t.co/luNNgj4yOx ^gl
