Update: Power restored to Richmond residents after downed wire

Power has since been restored.

About 1,000 people have been affected by the outage.

About 4,000 BC Hydro customers in Richmond were without power on Sunday evening.

According to BC Hydro, two separate outages had cut off power for a total of 4,090 people, both due to downed wires.

Power was out for 1,170 customers from the east-west of River Road, north of McLeod Court, south of Twigg Place.

Meanwhile, 2,920 customers were out of power from south of River Drive, east of Airport Road, north of McKim Way and west of St. Edward's Drive.
