Danyal Bahramfar, also known as 'Daniel Golkar,' faces charges for exploitation involving several women, including a youth, while teaching mixed martial arts and self-defence in Pitt Meadows.

A Coquitlam man has been charged with allegedly sexually exploiting women, including a youth, while teaching mixed martial arts and self-defence classes in Pitt Meadows.

Danyal Bahramfar was approved with two counts of sexual exploitation by the BC Prosecution Service on Jan. 21, as an investigation is ongoing by Ridge Meadows RCMP.

"In order to advance the investigation, police are confirming the accused’s name and issuing his photo in an effort to locate further witnesses and individuals who may have information," explains spokesperson Cpl. Julie Klaussner in a news release today (Feb. 3).

Mounties were first notified of an alleged sexual exploitation by a mixed martial arts trainer on October 2021.

It claimed Bahramfar — also known as Daniel Golkar — had been involved with a female youth during sessions as far back as 2016.

Investigators found, through witness statements, that other female gym members were also involved when it was revealed Bahramfar had also taught self-defence classes across Pitt Meadows.

Police are now looking to obtain more details and witness accounts to further its case.
