Bringing a show full of wonder to Richmond, a world class illusionist fresh off-Broadway is gearing up for a fundraising performance next month.

Born in Belarus but having lived in Vancouver, Vitaly Beckman, who uses his first name as his show name, has been called one of the most innovative illusionists in the world. On June 5 at 7 p.m., he’ll be performing at the River Rock Show Theatre for a fundraiser to benefit Richmond’s Beth Tikvah Synagogue.

In his performances, called “An Evening of Wonders,” Vitaly’s illusions aim to represent an “impossible dream” that he hopes to accomplish such as making drawings come to life or teleporting playing cards from one audience member to the next.

Another famous trick of his, audience members who are brave enough to surrender their identification just might witness Vitaly using his powers to make the photo on their driver’s license disappear.

Tickets for the June 5 show are available through Beth Tikvah’s website and range in price from $45 to $70.
