After months of delay, the iconic Japanese café, Tsujiri, is opening its Richmond location this week.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Tsujiri is opening this Thursday, Feb. 14 at Central at Garden City to serve up its matcha-themed treats.
Originally, the café was set to open last July, according to the company’s Instagram page. Some have taken to social media to express their enthusiasm for the café’s grand opening, while others are showing frustration over the delay.
“Been waiting so long that I forgot this place existed,” said one Facebook user on Tsujiri’s announcement that its doors were finally opening.
While Tsujiri has two locations in Toronto, this will be their first café in Metro Vancouver.
Tsujiri, a green tea brand, was established in Japan in 1860. Now, the café serves a lot more than traditional tea; visitors can get matcha sundaes, soft serve ice-cream, cakes, floats and shaved ice.
Here are some of the treats the café currently serves around the world:
Tsujiri Richmond is located at 1535 4777 McClelland Rd. and will open at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14.
