Hawkers Market returns to Vancouver next month

Get ready Vancouverites, there's going to be plenty of food and lots of beer
Hawkers Market
Hawkers Market is coming back next month!

“The snacks are back in town” declares the Facebook event page for the 2018 edition of Hawkers Market.

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from the Hawkers Market crew. The event began in 2013 as a way to bring local food crafters, artists and artisans, musicians, and the people who enjoy all of those things together for a lively market-place style recurring event.

Hawkers Market

The Hawkers Market team branched out, acting as curators for things like the temporary food marketplace in the early days of McArthur Glen in Richmond, as the outlet-style mall brought on permanent food vendors in dedicated spaces.

Then Hawkers put their energy into a North Vancouver project for a permanent and ambitious marketplace with shipping container restaurants, gardens, and other community-driven programs, but sadly Hawkers Wharf did not come to fruition.

Now Hawkers Market is hawking its return. Set for November 17, 2018, with sessions at 4 pm and 8 pm, the event once again aims to promote “independent chefs, breweries, distilleries, side hustles, pop ups and indie food producers in a format centred around a Hawker style eating and drinking experience where guests are able to choose from multiple tastings included in their wristband ticket.”

New Hawker LA STREET MEAT LA Street Meat is @chefgeoffrogers interpretation of the street meat’s he has found exploring LA. He told us about one of his most memorable meals in LA being cooked on a sheet pan, open flame and two shopping carts as a makeshift griddle and then casually telling us he would like to do it at Hawkers! Naturally we said f*ck yeah. Just his LA experiences @chefgeoffrogers will be bringing Street Meats, Elotes and Nachos to Hawkers. We think this might go down well with some of our breweries all set to the beats with our DJ sets coming from LA too #HawkOn #StayTuned . . . #hawkersmarket #hawkon #Vancouver #dailyhivevan #yvr #cheflife #la #losangeles #StreetMeat #craftbrew #craftbeer @dailyhivevancouver @citizenrelations @chefgeoffrogers @savourychef @hawkersmarket . . . @fourwindsbrewco @33acresbrewing @beerebrewingco @beerandacurry @callisterbeer @callistersoda @loudmouthbrewing @odditykombucha @facultybrewing @andinabrewingco @citysidewinery @luppolo_brewing @dominioncider @longtabledistillery @cedarcider @nomadcider @windfallcider @scenicroadcider @bettyskingsauce @notsogentletea @west_coast_select @northwesthopfarms @zaklanheritagefarm @ridetowander @chefalexchen @domenica_fiore @coastalcocktails @shelterpoint @eatfatso @fed_hq @petesmeat @longtailkitchen @andinabrewingco .Photo Cred- @annasinthekitchen . . .
