Metro Vancouver police are seeking at least one suspect after a teen was hit in the face by fireworks fired at them from a car.

The incident happened in Surrey on Nov. 22 around 12:30 a.m. while the victim and a friend were walking along 148 Street near 104 Avenue in Guildford.

A white car drove past the pair of pedestrians slowly, and someone in the vehicle aimed and fired a firework at the two on the side of the street, according to Surrey RCMP.

The teen was hit in the face and sustained minor injuries. The two walked to a nearby RCMP station to report the attack.

Officers have collected traffic camera footage from the area and identified the suspect vehicle, a white 4-door hatchback car with a sunroof.

Anyone who was in the area who saw this or who has dash cam footage of the area is being asked by the police to come forward. The vehicle had been travelling south on 148 Street and turned west on 104 Avenue.

The Surrey RCMP can be contacted at 604-599-0502.
