Where they did well:

Liberal MLA John Yap’s bread and butter was Voting Area 117, the streets surrounding Westwind elementary, where he garnered 118/214 cast ballots (of 357 eligible voters). This area includes an adult-only townhouse complex and single-family homes. Between 2011 and 2016 its population fell by three per cent.

The NDP fared best in far west portion of Steveston Village. Voting Area 101 includes the apartments and co-ops west of Seventh Avenue. Scott Stewart fetched 86/168 cast ballots (of 332 eligible voters), compared to Yap’s 42.

Jerome Dickey of the Green Party had the most votes in Voting Area 71, along Springfield Drive, where there are two large townhouse and apartment complexes with relatively low property assessments, next to Manoah Steves elementary.
